In Tanzania, the PATRIZIA Foundation's new impact monitoring has
has passed its practical test. After a final polish, the it is used in all KinderHaus projects.<\/p>\n

Since its foundation, PATRIZIA has been working Foundation impact-oriented. After developing its own impact model in 2021 with the Competence Centre for Nonprofit Organisations and Social Entrepreneurship (NPO Competence Centre) of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU Wien), it was finalised last year and applied in practice for the first time.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Ex-post evaluation - looking backwards<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Flavia Bogorin, a researcher from WU Vienna, visited five Children's Home facilities in Songea and Peramiho in Tanzania in June 2022 to assess the medium and long-term impacts of the projects. The social research expert conducted interviews with all relevant stakeholder groups and found, among other things, that the PATRIZIA Children's Hospital Peramiho is now classified as a regional hospital and serves as a contact point for the entire region. The visits to PATRIZIA School Peramiho, PATRIZIA Child Care Songea and PATRIZIA Primary School Songea also showed similar impacts for the whole region. \"The results of the evaluation confirm the sustainable approach we have taken since the foundation was established over 20 years ago. We are changing systems and living the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations - especially the goal of quality education for all,\" says Astrid Gabler, Cjhairwoman of the PATRIZIA Foundation Board. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Impact monitoring for all sites<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The interviews that took place in the four facilities in Tanzania also addressed the practicality of the questionnaires already developed and obtained suggestions for improvement from the interviewees. In this way, it was possible to find out whether the methodology could be applied to all other KinderHaus projects of the PATRIZIA Foundation. This process was then continued in Ndanda, where Flavia Bogorin was received by the PATRIZIA Foundation's local partners, the Missionary Benedictines of Ndanda Abbey. The PATRIZIA Foundation planned to construct an additional building for the already overcrowded Primary School in Ndanda together with the local partners. The grand opening took place in May 2023. The topic of impact measurement should be considered from the very beginning. With the help of the information from the discussions, the impact model was revised and finalised. The final impact model and the quantitative survey instruments for annual monitoring can be applied to all existing and future KinderHaus projects from 2023 onwards and are therefore scalable without restrictions. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Relevance for projects and partners<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

In conclusion, the PATRIZIA Foundation was able to confirm that the course was set for a professional impact management.<\/span>The new tools for monitoring and evaluating KinderHaus projects can now be used for every new project from the very beginning. Partner manager Petra Ellert says: \"This new standard is just as important for ourselves as it is for any company pursuing a serious ESG strategy. At the end of the day, it's about credibly demonstrating the impact of investments - and that's exactly what scientifically sound impact measurement methods are needed for. \"We have been able to prove that our motto \"Building better futures\" has proven itself in practice. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
