The “RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” Foundation" is supporting the PATRIZIA Foundation with a donation of €200,000. Astrid Gabler, Chair of the PATRIZIA Foundation, accepted the donation cheque in Cologne from Wolfram Kons, Head of RTL Charity and Deputy Chair of the Foundation.
The donation will support the construction of a new inclusive nursery school in San Juan de Lurigancho, one of Lima’s poorest districts.
Creating a Safe Place to Learn and Grow
Many children in San Juan de Lurigancho grow up in difficult conditions. Access to early childhood education, childcare and safe learning environments is limited — particularly for children with disabilities.
The new nursery school will create a safe and nurturing environment where children with and without disabilities can **learn, play and develop together**.
The planned facilities include:
- Accessible classrooms
- Age-appropriate toilet facilities
- Dedicated rooms for therapy and care
- Spaces for individual support
- Integration into the existing school centre
By providing safe, stable and child-friendly spaces, the project lays the foundation for an inclusive educational journey from the very beginning.
Around 360 Children Reached Every Year
Once completed, the nursery school is expected to provide around 360 pre-school children each year with access to a safe and supportive learning environment.
Children with disabilities will benefit from therapy programmes, individual support and an inclusive community. At the same time, the project will strengthen families and the wider neighbourhood.
Close cooperation with parents, the local community and our local partner Fe y Alegría Perú will help ensure the project’s long-term and sustainable impact.
A Long-Term Vision for More Than 1,600 Children
The nursery school is an important step towards a broader vision: the development of an **inclusive educational campus reaching more than 1,600 children**.
The campus is designed to become a flagship project for:
