An evening full of empathy: Charity Dinner 2025

Mar. 2025

The charity evening to mark the 25th anniversary of the PATRIZIA Foundation at the Munich Literaturhaus was a complete success: in addition to insights into the history of the foundation, there was an inspiring keynote speech by marketing guru Martin Lindstrøm and a lot of heart in the form of authentic impressions from the KinderHaus projects.

Wolfgang Egger, the founder of the PATRIZIA Foundation, opened the festive evening with the guiding idea „Education is much more than just a fundamental right. It’s the key to unlocking, breaking cycles of poverty and driving sustainable social and economic progress. Yet, millions of children around the world do not have access to quality education.

However, millions of children around the world still lack access to quality education. He described his vision: “Imagine what we can achieve together: A world where education is not a privilege, but a right. A world where children – regardless of their background – can dream big and shape their own future. Tonight we are not just raising funds, we are creating hope. We are shaping the future and changing lives. Thank you for being here, thank you for your generosity and thank you for believing that together we can build a better future.

Insights and a memorable visit from the projects

The evening was hosted by Christoph Liedtke, Head of Communications at PATRIZIA SE, and Astrid Gabler, Chairwoman of the Board at PATRIZIA Foundation. In addition to inspiring speeches, two panel discussions offered exciting insights into PATRIZIA KinderHaus projects and the new PRIME25 Alliance.

The panel with visitors from Peramiho, Tanzania – the place where the PATRIZIA Foundation’s success story began – was particularly moving. The first project was set up there in partnership with the Benedictine order: a children’s hospital, which is now a mainstay of the regional healthcare system. Brother Dr. Ansgar Stüfe OSB, Chief Physician Dr. Adeodatus Haule and Head of Nursing Romanus Mgimba reported on the positive development in the region: 30,000 children are now treated there every year, which has reduced infant mortality by more than 60 percent. The report by Charity Mhavile, who completed her training at the hospital and now works there as a nurse, was also inspiring: “My training was a strong foundation for my personal and professional development. It not only gave me medical knowledge, but also responsibility and empathy.

Empathy as a success factor: keynote by Martin Lindstrøm

Another highlight was the inspiring keynote speech by Martin Lindstrøm, one of the world’s most respected brand experts and thought leaders in business transformation. With his clear message ‘If you don’t understand people, you don’t understand business’, he emphasised the importance of empathy in an increasingly digital world.

In a captivating and interactive speech – in which guests were asked, among other things, to look into each other’s eyes for a minute – he made it impressively clear that without empathy, any business strategy remains incomplete – regardless of how well thought out or calculated it is.

Thanks to partners, friends and supporters

At the end of the event, guests were able to bid for exclusive works of art and authentic paintings in a silent auction, thereby directly supporting the PATRIZIA Foundation’s educational projects.

Special thanks go to all long-standing partners, friends and supporters of the PATRIZIA Foundation who have accompanied and supported us on this evening – but also on our 25-year journey. As Wolfgang Egger emphasised: ‘Your commitment ensures that our projects continue to grow and be successful.’ Together, we can bring about lasting change and enable real social progress. We look forward to continuing on this path together with you!
