La Isla Challenge – Hiking for Peru
For the third time in a row, the Hiking Challenge of the PATRIZIA SE will take place for the benefit of the PATRIZIA Foundation. This time, it’s off to Spain for a two-day hike from September 17 to 20, 2023. Before that, however, more than 70 PATRIZIAns will become fundraisers. In the past two years we have already successfully carried out the #patriziachallenge twice with many partners and sponsors.
Our goal for this year’s La Isla Challenge 2023: 130,000€ for the expansion of our PATRIZIA School Sondoveni in the Peruvian rainforest.

Our PATRIZIA School Sondoveni
Already in 2014, the PATRIZIA Foundation was able to build a first school in the small indigenous village of Sondoveni – 10 hours away from Lima in the rainforest of Peru. Originally, five classes were taught in the three classrooms. Up to 60 children from families in the region attend our school every year.

Review of our previous walking challenges
Bavarian Peaks Challenge 2022
30 km over the Bavarian Alps, almost 2000 meters of altitude in total and 130,000€ within two months the PATRIZIAners could collect during their hiking challenge 2022. The donations went directly to the PATRIZIA Primary School Songea in southern Tanzania and helped to finance the new construction of the school and important renovation work.

Lake District Challenge 2021
As volunteering project by four PATRIZIA employees, the Hiking Challenge, 2021 was launched. Over 100,000€ was raised during the hike across the 24 peaks of the Lake District National Park in northern England, benefiting PATRIZIA School Buyamba in Uganda. Thanks to this support, a rainwater collection system could be integrated and additional classrooms could be built. Furthermore, other rooms could be renovated and the school could reopen after the Corona Pandemic.
