How we work with project partners

Before You Contact Us — What You Should Know
To ensure transparency and alignment, please take note of the following principles that guide our work:
Our Operating Model
We focus on co-financing capital expenditure (CapEx) to help trusted local partners expand or improve permanent facilities (schools, health centers, etc.). These are typically long-term partnerships under our KinderHaus model, which includes:
Tri-partite structure:
We only engage where there is a clear long-term local owner/operator with whom we can establish a direct relationship, a framework partner underwriting 25-year operational continuity, and a defined facility-based project.
Long-term commitment:
We aim for partnerships with a minimum 25-year impact horizon. This is a two-way street: we expect regular engagement, provisioning of quantitative and qualitative data, and possibility of visits. You can expect continuous advisory support, opening of our networks, and potential to co-create additional projects.
No support for Operational Expenses (OpEx) or short-term programs:
We do not fund salaries, materials, trainings, events, or temporary services (potential exception: as part of an additional project in an existing KinderHaus partnership).
Our Preferred Partner Model
We operate through a Preferred Partner Model, identifying strong local partners via:
- Referrals from our trusted network
- Strategic initiatives with institutional co-investors
- In-depth vetting and shared development of the project concept
Because our due diligence and partnership design processes are rigorous and resource-intensive, we are not able to accept or respond to unsolicited proposals.
What we look for
We invest in the environments that enable children and young people to learn, grow, and thrive — because quality education doesn’t happen in isolation. That’s why our support ranges from kindergartens to senior secondary schools, from vocational training centres that build pathways to employment, to health clinics and child protection centres that safeguard a young person’s ability to benefit from education. In some contexts, it means investing in safe homes for girls; in others, building the first science lab in a rural school.
While our work is broad in form, it is focused in principle: we fund where strong local partners are creating lasting opportunities for children and youth — especially in underserved areas — and where our capital investment can remove structural barriers that hold them back. Projects must involve permanent facilities and be designed for long-term, stable service delivery. We look for initiatives that make a tangible, lasting difference in the lives of young people — and we aim to be a committed partner in making that possible.
Not a Fit? Common Reasons
Unfortunately, we cannot consider projects that:
- Do not involve construction or improvement of a facility
- Focus solely on short-term programming, events, or capacity building
- Lack a local owner/operator or long-term sustainability partner
- Do not serve children or youth in a direct and ongoing manner
Potential Alignment? Here’s What We Need
If you believe your project aligns with the above, and especially if referred by a trusted intermediary, you may submit:
✓ A 1–2 page concept note outlining the facility, beneficiaries, partner structure, and co-financing model
✓ Evidence of institutional support and a clear sustainability plan
✓ Your organisation’s track record and legal registration
Please note: Due to the high volume of inquiries, we cannot guarantee individual responses.
