PATRIZIA School Ndalama
The St. Leticia Secondary School is located in a strong growing region northwest of the Zambian capital Lusaka. Although there are many children and young people living here, there is no secondary school. This means long distances for the pupils and high transportation costs for their families.
The consequences: Only a few young people are able to receive further education and drop-out rates are high. As a result most young people don´t have access to qualified vocational training or studies. The rate of illiteracy and the number of unemployed is particularly high among young people.
“With your donation, you are helping to ensure that young people in the Ndalama region have access to high-quality secondary education – the prerequisite for a self-determined life free from poverty.”

Creating an educational campus
The PATRIZIA School Ndalama will fundamentally improve the local situation. Above all, the new school benefits disadvantaged children from poor communities in the surrounding area. The secondary school is already being built, but dormitories for pupils living further away, teacher accommodation and a kitchen to cater for the children and young people are still missing.
The vision of the school: to create a complete educational campus with pre-school and elementary school as well as a vocational training center.
As a local partner with extensive experience in the region, the Franciscan Sisters will run the school.
An accompanying training program for children, parents and teachers promotes child protection, non-violent education, hygiene and inclusion.
