Thanks to the PATRIZIA Foundation and the cooperation with Fidesco and the Diocese of Bafia, the construction was completed in less than a year.
A significant contribution was also made by the HIKING Challenge 2024, which was organized by volunteers and supporters: over €200,000 were raised in support of the PATRIZIA School Bafia. This incredible commitment by around 120 participants, who hiked and collected donations along the way, played a key role in making the school a reality. Thanks to their efforts, the school now shines in new splendor and offers children a safe and modern learning environment.
Joy and Celebration at the Inauguration
This project was made possible through initiative, dedication, and hands-on commitment – laying the foundation for a better future. Thanks to the PATRIZIA Foundation and the cooperation with Fidesco and the Diocese of Bafia, the construction was completed in less than a year.
Just a few months ago, the site was home to a school that was hardly recognizable as such: makeshift wooden walls, unpainted and unstable; a schoolyard of bare clay; no running water, no toilets, and no secure entrance gate, almost no infrastructure, no protection, and little perspective.
Today, the school shines in new splendor: a large entrance gate welcomes the children every morning. The schoolyard is spacious and inviting, featuring a covered pavilion as a meeting place for the school community.
The classrooms are now solidly built, freshly painted, and ready for modern teaching. Clean and functional restrooms are also part of the new facilities – a major step forward for hygiene and dignity in everyday school life.
A particularly emotional part of the celebration was the reaction of many attendees who knew the previous condition of the school and could hardly believe what had been achieved in such a short time.
With the new PATRIZIA School Bafia, more than just a school has opened, it has become a place of hope for generations of children. It stands as a powerful symbol that change is possible, when people come together and believe in a better future.
