Big impact with little effort: At the kebap-charity event on September 25, 2025, Augsburg’s Ali Baba kebab house transformed the classic kebab into a donation with heart. For just 1 Euro, guests got their kebap, and the company donated 5 Euros to the children’s home PATRIZIA Kinderhaus Ziegelhof for every kebab sold. The campaign took place right at Königsplatz, drawing a large crowd and making an equally significant impact.
It was raised a total of 14,586 euros through the sale of 921 kebabs and additional donations from customers, including business partners. The proceeds went to GeschwisterCLUB, a special program within the Ziegelhof Therapy Center in Stadtbergen, which is run by the Bunter Kreis Foundation.
The GeschwisterCLUB provides vital support to children and teenagers whose siblings are seriously ill or disabled. In group and individual settings, they receive targeted support, emotional relief, and valuable guidance. This ensures they are recognised and empowered.
Everyone put their heart and soul into this project, whether outside the establishment with an additional donation box or directly at the kebap spit in the inside. The entire Ali Baba team even gave up a day of vacation to support the good cause. Bread and meat deliveries were generously donated. As well Astrid Gabler, Chairwoman of the PATRIZIA Foundation, was also fully involved. She was busy at the cash register and even picked up a knife to cut kebabs.
Whether schoolchildren during their lunch break, families, businesspeople, or senior citizens — entire Augsburg took part. The campaign was initiated by Ali Babas managing directors Osman and Haci Öztürk, along with PATRIZIA- employee Kubilay Sarili, iniciated the campaign. They were determined to give back to the local community and provide concrete help to children.
Markus Pfeffinger, managing director of the Bunter Kreis Foundation, emphasizes:
“The kekap campaingn’s donations are securing the GeschwisterCLUB in the long run. It allows us to give affected families some time, relief, and valuable support.”
