First summer party of the PATRIZIA Foundation

Jul. 2019

On July 9, the PATRIZIA Foundation invited Sponsor Circle Members, PATRIZIAns and friends of the Foundation to attend a summer party on the roof terrace of the PATRIZIA AG in Augsburg. Foundation board member Sabine Schillinger-Köhne, who had just returned from a trip to southern India, described to the 40 guests her impressions of Porayar. This is where the PATRIZIA Foundation recently opened its 17. facility, a home for girls from broken families who are either half or full orphans.

The PATRIZIA Foundation used the occasion to again thank all its sponsors, PATRIZIA members and friends of the foundation: Thanks for the donations, for the support, the time and knowledge. Together we help children around the world by building schools, hospitals and homes.

Sending help around the world

Foundation board member Sabine Schillinger-Köhne travelled to Porayar for the opening of the 17. PATRIZIA KinderHaus facility. The newly opened girls’ dormitory provides a safe home for 280 girls whose circumstances no longer allow them to live with their family. The girls attend the neighbouring school and strive to attain higher education after graduation.

Schillinger-Köhne engaged in many conversations with the girls and the new project partner ELM (Evangelical Lutheran Mission Work in Lower Saxony) on site and gained an insight into the structured daily life of the home. The ceremonial opening of the girls’ home was the highlight of her visit.

India in Augsburg

The delicious menu and the colourful decoration gave an Indian flair to the roof terrace. After Schillinger-Köhne’s report a short film was screened highlighting the work of the foundation in southern India. During the party, the guests enjoyed intense discussions and used the time to network. The first summer party of the PATRIZIA Foundation was a delightful and insightful evening enjoyed by all.
